Science Week

Monash Children’s Hospital School teachers provided young people across all wards of the hospital the opportunity to experience science through fun and engaging activities. Our budding scientists explored binary bracelets, spaghetti engineering, playdough circuits, paper aeroplanes, popping states of matter, tsunami artwork and the DNA of strawberries.

Science Week @ MCHS

MCHS celebrated National Science Week the week beginning Monday August 15th. Our students donned their thinking caps to both submit questions to the Junior Scientists Quiz and take on the challenge themselves. Well done also to those brave folks who attempted a most challenging Experienced Scientists Quiz and well done to our top scorer. Our student scientists also had the opportunity to experiment with jellyfish, crystals, magnets and polymer snow during the weeks learning sessions.

Hospital Organisation of Pedagogues in Europe (HOPE)
HOPE is an association of European hospital teachers who work in Hospital
and at home with children with special health care needs. Through school and education activities we try to provide every learner with a positive environment and with the chance to carry on their education, no matter what the illness is.

It is one of Australia’s leading children’s hospitals and is part of Monash Health – Victoria’s largest public health service. Monash Children’s Hospital is a brand new dedicated children’s hospital located in Clayton, and has satellite sites at Casey Hospital and Dandenong Hospital.
